Sherry Nowlin Obituary

Sherry Lynn Nowlin, 42, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at the Gilchrist Center For Hospice Care in Towson, Md. She was the wife of Terry Wayne Nowlin. Born June 16, 1962, in Westminster, Md., she was the daughter of Ervin M. and Janet Miller Lang of Hampstead, Md. Mrs. Nowlin was a Call Center Representative for Visa International She spoke four different languages and knew sign language. She taught piano to many students throughout the years. Mrs. Nowlin was a member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren in Brodbecks, where she played the piano and organ. She was an organ and piano Choir Director for Lazarus Lutheran Church in Lineboro, Md., where she organized hymn sings. She was also a retired bell choir director at Lazarus Church. She was also a member of the All County Chorus and All State Chorus and Ensemble. Mrs. Nowlin organized the Jubilation. She truly enjoyed singing and music and was also an avid band booster parent. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by stepchildren, First Lieutenant Matthew R. Nowlin of Dunfies, Va., Jessica Moore Nowlin of Towson, Md., and Megan Ann Nowlin of Manchester, Md.; one step grandchild, Travis Ronald Sheck of Towson, Md; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Brodbecks, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Melinda Carlson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday and Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, Md., and at the church Tuesday from noon until the time of service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Gilchrist Center for Hospice, 6601 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21204.
