Robert H. Pfuntner

1931 - 2015

DANSVILLE - Robert H. Pfuntner, 83, passed away early Sunday morning (Jan. 3, 2015) at the Vincent House in Wayland, where he had been a resident since Dec. 29, 2014.

He was born in Dansville on Dec. 7, 1931, a son of the late William and Evelyn (Englert) Pfuntner. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Dora Cork and Nancy Pfuntner.

Bob was a union carpenter for the South Central Local Carpenters Union of Horseheads. He was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. A member of the Union Hose Company of the Dansville Volunteer Fire Department, the Loyal Order of the Moose 1130 of Dansville. He also had served in the National Guard for many years. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, and watching the Syracuse Orangemen play basketball and football.

He is survived by a son, Mark (Lesanne) Pfuntner of Penfield; a daughter, Sheila (Kevin) Lemcke of Albion; a brother, Harold (Vivian) Pfuntner; grandchildren, Noah Pfuntner and Keira Grace Lemcke; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob will always be remembered for the wonderful man he was - his love of life, honesty, strength and perseverance, and his endless sense of humor right until the end. Most of all he will be greatly missed by his family for whom he would do anything for and proved his dedication to them countless times. He cherished his children and adored his grandchildren and was a never ending strong presence in all of their lives. "We love you Dad and Grandpa Bob, Forever."

Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m., St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville.
