Roger Brent Pfuntner, age 63, of Rochelle, Texas passed away Monday, May 23, 2022 at his residence in Rochelle. Roger was born August 29, 1958 in Austin, Texas to Thomas Edward Pfuntner and Georgia Evelyn (Freitag) Pfuntner. He grew up in Austin riding dirt bikes and helping his brother work on race cars. He attended the University of Texas in Austin where he received his bachelor's degree in Psychology. He worked for the Texas Parks & Wildlife as a Park Ranger and then for the Social Security Administration for several years before working for the U.S. Postal Service for 16 years. He and Pat moved to Rochelle in June of 2019. He married Patricia Jane "Pat" Magavern on November 17, 2019 in Canyon Lake, Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting sports, motorcycles and especially his bible study. He was a family oriented man and was a member of the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ.
A memorial service for Roger Brent Pfuntner will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in Brady with Virgil Webb officiating. Burial of Roger's cremated remains will be at the Hill Country Memorial Gardens, 11700 W State Highway 46, New Braunfels, Texas with military honors at 3:00pm Saturday, June 4, 2022. Roger is survived by his wife Pat Pfuntner of Rochelle, Texas; son Peyton Dwight of Rochelle, Texas and daughter Katie Dwight of Rochelle, Texas and his long haired dachshunds Reece & Ella. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Steve and sister Susan. Memorial contributions in memory of Roger Brent Pfuntner may be made to the Heart of Texas Bible Camp, P.O. Box 830, Brady, Texas 76825.
