Irene Solis

Irene Z. Solis, age 81, of Brady, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Odessa, Texas. Irene was born on January 23, 1945, in Brady, Texas, to Antonio Zapata and Ramona (Garcia) Zapata. She grew up in Brady and married Martin Solis on June 27, 1965, in Brady. She worked as a housekeeper for many years. She loved being with family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a lifelong resident of Brady and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brady.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene Zapata Solis will be held Tues, February 10, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brady with Father Terry Brenon officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will be receiving friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Irene Solis is survived by daughters Loria Leal and husband Eufracio Rodriguez, Valerie Solis; brothers Raymond Zapata, Rosendo Zapata; sisters Esther Rocha, Janie Munoz, Victoria Barrientas, Sofia Solis; grandchildren Chris Solis, Michael Leal, Niki Leal, Martina Leal, Mackenzie Solis, Savanna Contreras, Jacob Espinoza, Xavier Longoria, Elroy Solis Jr., John Paul Solis, Lauren Solis; eighteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Martin, son Elroy Solis, sister Rita Escamilla, grandchild Daniel Solis.
