I knew "of her" rather than knew her. My father (Howard Tyner) knew her slightly and my grandfather (John Wesley Tyner) knew her better. I own her books on Cherokee burial places and have loaned the books to several others. I am glad to be related even though I did not know her.

I cannot begin to say what an impact Alice and Boyce had on my life, with their open hearts and graciousness to all who crossed their paths. They certainly had a profound influence on my life, and I count myself as most fortuate that I knew both of them.

Alice, It was my extreme pleasure to have worked with you in the establishing of the Descendants of Cherokee Seminaries Students Assoc. Thank you for ALL your work in helping to educate our young Cherokee people, and for providing guidance to countless others. You have earned eternal rest with our forefathers. In my mind you are most definitely a 'Beloved Woman'

Danny: Sorry for your loss. She was beloved by all of us... I'm one of the OU kids she and Boyce "fostered"... with their help I was able to stay in school and finish. Again, we grieve with you.

Alice was such a sweet and pleasant person. She was always so thoughtful to bring flowers to Norman First for our services. I will miss her.

Alice was such a beautiful woman and did so many beautiful things during her life... all the way up to 90+ years worth!
Her presence will greatly be missed from so many whose life she has touched.
What a honor it was to have known her.
I miss you Alice.

I will miss Alice so much and am so thankful to have known her. My parents, when students at OU many years ago, were also blessed to have known both Alice and Boyce. Her presence at Norman First American UMC will be sorely missed as well!
