Alvin Sires Obituary

Alvin C. "Handy" Sires Jr., 79, passed away November 27, 2011 in his home in Ochelata, OK. He was born February 10, 1932 in Ochelata to Alvin C. "Chick" Sires Sr. and Ada Brown Sires. Mr. Sires married Irma Fields in 1961 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Sires attended school in Ochelata and entered the US Army at age 17 years old in August 1949. He fought in the Korean War with the first Calvary and served through October 1953. Mr. Sires worked as a rock mason until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mr. Sires was also a successful artist.
He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Sires and Leveana Woods of Bartlesville, two grandsons, Cody Franklin and Brandon Franklin of Bartlesville, two brothers, Don Sires of Fairland and Billy Joe Sires of Ochelata, five sisters, Joyce Parker and Sherry Lozano of Bartlesville, June Thomas of Ramona, Phyllis Sanders and Colleen Peck of Ochelata, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mr. Sires was preceded in death by his wife Irma, father, mother, and one sister Wanda Faye Sires Virden.
A memorial service will be held Thursday December 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Stumpff Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Schench officiating. Military rights will be held after the service.

Billy Joe, i am so sorry to hear about Handy. I talked with him when pat passed away and he was a passing thought just a couple weeks ago, i wish i had used the phone and called him. Hope you and family are all doing ok, marge
