Bill Beavers Obituary

Bill G. ""Bucky"" Beavers, 79, of Bartlesville died Saturday in Bartlesville.
Bill was born the son of Edward McKinley and Lillie Louiza (Baker) Beavers on Oct. 16, 1935, in Buffalo, AR. At age 13, the family moved to Coolidge, Arizona, where Bill graduated from Coolidge High School in 1955. Bill worked various jobs at filling stations and newspapers before being drafted into the U.S. Army and serving stateside until his honorable discharge. Bill worked with the Coolidge Examiner before moving to Bartlesville in 1963 to take a job at the Examiner-Enterprise. His first day at work was Nov. 22, 1963, a day made infamous by the JFK assassination. While at church Bill meet Rose Newcomb and just five short years later they were united in marriage Sept. 24, 1972. Bill retired after 35 years of service in 1998.
Bill had a passion for collecting vintage items which he passed on to his son Steve. Together they loved to attend car, tractor and gun shows. He was determined to care for his own yard and made good use of his riding lawnmower. Reading was a big part of his life and was interested especially news items. He was an avid lister to country music, especially George Jones. Bill loved his family and was a good provider. He will be dearly missed.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Rose and their son Steve Beavers and wife Jennifer of Bartlesville; one brother Calvin Beavers and wife Linda of Globe, Arizona; two sisters Anna Tracy of Tacoma, Washington, and Lola Carmen of Tucson, Arizona; Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Sooner Park Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Edward Cunningham officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Bill's family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
