Eugene Janway Obituary

Funeral Services for Eugene "Gene" Janway have been scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow. Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Uniontown Cemetery in Uniontown, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Eugene Ross Janway was born on Tuesday, December 13, 1927 in Canadian, Oklahoma, the son of Jimmy J. and Emma C. (Jackson) Janway. He died on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was 86 years of age.
During World War II, Gene served in the Army. He married the former Miss Arta Lou Peace on August 2, 1952 in Bugtusle, Oklahoma. They had three children and celebrated 61 years of marriage. Gene worked for Willbros as a land surveyor. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. He also loved to watch his grandkids play sports. Gene was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge. He was also a devoted member of Northside Christian Church. Memorials may be made to Northside Christian Church at 1221 N. Elm Pl., Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
He is survived by, Daughters, Connie Covington and husband Larry, Broken Arrow, OK; Margie Jeter, Bartlesville, OK; Son, Tim Janway, Broken Arrow, OK. Grandchildren, Traci, Bryan and wife Ashley, Kristin and husband Kyle, Cami, Brady, Hunter, Keaton, Marley; Great-Grandson, Colton; Sister, Faye, Quinton, OK
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Arta Lou, brothers, Jessie, James "Cuby", and George, and sister, Effie.
