Frank Dickinson Obituary

Frank Dickinson was born on December 31, 1969, in Stillwater Municipal Hospital, Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Floyd Gene and Ruby Jo (Nance) Dickinson. He passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011, in Delaware, Oklahoma, at the age of 41 years. Frank began his education at Ideal Country School Kindergarten, attended South Coffeyville School for the first through eighth grades, then graduated from Lenapah High School in May 1988. After high school, Frank completed the SEC Votech Welding Program in May 1993, received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Teaching from Emporia State University in May 1998, and received his Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Oklahoma State University in May 2004.
In July 1991, Frank met and fell in love with Shonna Kastler. They became engaged in November 1991 and married on August 14, 1993, in Coffeyville, Kansas. As a follower and believer of Christ Jesus, Frank served the community and church in various ministries. He had a strong desire to gather knowledge which he used to educate others. Frank loved to teach and coach basketball, football, and baseball at the high school level, and coach his children and other children basketball, softball, baseball, and soccer. He loved using his hands to build and fix everything; he enjoyed being outdoors; and because he was an amazing father, he enjoyed spending quality time with his children.
Loving family members include: His wife: Shonna, of the home; Daughter: Taylor, of the home; Two Sons: Eric and Joshua Michael, of the home; Brother: Michael Dickinson and his wife, Jennifer, of Shawnee, Kansas; Parents: Floyd and Ruby Dickinson, of Eureka, Kansas; Father and Mother-In-Law: Terry and Darlene Melton, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Brothers-In-Law: Terry M. Melton, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Glen Kastler III and his wife, Jenny, of South Coffeyville, Kansas; Sister-In-Law: Gayla Garrison and her husband, Bill, of South Coffeyville, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Owasso, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff Holley, Keith Girard, Steve Gerrish, John Knapp, Bill Ellis, and Mark Jones. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Dr. Jim Baker, Tom Triplett, Shea Ferrell, Tom Loafman, Kent Inouye, Andy Allison, Jim Mosley, Dusten Gorrell, Brian Jackson, and Eric George. Interment and burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Frank Dickinson Children's Fund at Arvest Bank, 11501 East 76th Street North, Owasso, OK 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso, Oklahoma. www.moweryfs.com
