Richard Graham Obituary

Richard "Rick" Wayne Graham, 59, resident of Dewey, died Tuesday January 24, 2012
Richard Wayne "Rick" Graham was born on September 11, 1952 in Bartlesville, OK to Phillip Wayne and Bobbie Lou (Miller) Graham. He was raised in Dewey Ok where he received his early education later moving to Bartlesville and graduated from Sooner High School in 1970. Rick attended NEO A&M Junior College in Miami, OK where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at Miami he was employed with Westco. Rick then attended college at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater studying Architectural Design and working at REDA Pump Company in the summers and weekends with his father. On December 18, 1973 Rick was disabled in an automobile accident. At that time he returned to the family farm in Dewey where he was lovingly cared for by his parents until his death.
Rick played a major role in his family especially for his nieces and nephews rather it be with their homework or just teaching them how to play. He enjoyed life to the fullest setting an example for everyone that no matter what the circumstances are to never allow your abilities to limit what you can do for yourself or others.
He had a great love for dogs especially his German Shepherds and Basset Hounds. He enjoyed spending his evenings on the computer talking to family and friends around the world.
He is survived by his parents Wayne and Bobbie Graham of the family home in Dewey, three sisters Janet Johnson of Orange, California, Deborah (Debbie) Bradley of Sperry, Oklahoma and Christy and her husband Bill Brown of Dewey. He has several nieces and nephews and two great nieces and six great nephews. Two uncles, two aunts and several cousins.
He had several wonderful life long friends including Mona Fischer, Terry & Margie McCoy, Kris Selman and his dear friend and caregiver Frances Black.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, three aunts and two uncles.
Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Rick may do so to Rose Hill Community Baptist Church 1259 N 4000 Rd Dewey, OK 74029

I will miss Rick, his sense of humor and his bright outlook on everything, in spite of his situation.
May God always be with him.

My deepest thoughts for a peace that passes understanding for Rick's family and friends who mourn his passing. Know that he was a gift to all who met him; that he was a source of encouragement to all who had the privilege of meeting him; that his gift of thoughtful wit, careful advise, unconditional love and cheesy smile were his trademarks that he willingly shared to all. I miss you Ricky Lee.
