My wife Sandi and I just found out about Stan. We are deeply grieved and saddened by the news. Our prayers go out to his family. Stan and I were classmates at OU and colleagues in B'ville. Sandi worked with him at Blue Stem. Stan's smile was always the beaming light in the room. Again, we are so sorry for the community and his family's loss as well as the loss of a close friend.

Stan is a great example of walking in love. Although he could have done anything, through medicine he found his calling in service to others. My dad liked to say Dr. DeFehr saved his life three times. All consider Stan a friend.

My Mother lived in rural Arkansas. She had a history of strokes, was taking twelve different medications, and was hospitalized with an episode of high blood pressure. I called Stan, took her AMA out of the hospital, and brought her to Bartlesville. Stan met us at my home and then sent us to JP. Within three days my Mother's blood pressure was normalized and she was released from JP on three medications. My family has always believed that Stan's skill gave us our Mother for an additional fourteen years. He was the kind of man that went out of his way and made a difference. We will be forever grateful to Stan and the DeFehr family.

My mother,LaVon Mabry, had the privilege to work for Dr. DeFehr. She adored him! She would fondly share stories of him and how he loved to sing Wolly Bully by Sam Sham and the Pharaohs. He was both a friend and physician for my parents. Stan was a remarkable person who will be missed by many. To his family, keep him close to your heart... he is always with you. I send payers of comfort for you and yours.

What a wonderful, kind person he was. He will be missed. My favorite story of Stans was getting a call when he was home by a panicked patient who said her teeth had turned blue. He paused a minute and then asked what had she just eaten? Blueberries was the answer. So he reassured her that was the cause and not to worry. He just chuckled at that one!

Weve known and loved STAN for 47 years, first as my best friendss boyfriend, later as a brilliant man, full of humor and compassion. Such a wonderful mixture in STAN! We will never forgot the fun times we shared, the birth and raising of our children together, or the kindness he extended to us in caring for my father. Heaven is richer with STAN there but he will be sorely missed by all of us on this side of eternity. Our prayers are with all of the family.

Stan was my loyal friend for over 60 years. He was a groomsman at our wedding almost 48 years ago. As kids during the summers we played baseball almost daily. We had so many great times and I have great memories of those days with Stan. We have shared many great times together. I cherish the memories we share.
I remember Stan accepting Christ and being in church with him throughout our younger years together. Stan was a trusted friend and was there for me when he was needed. I will never forget the night in February 1975 that Stan and a very close mutual friend, Benjie, came to the Norman hospital and sat with me for around 5 hours. I will never forget their presence at that critical hour for me. I was an act of sacrificial love. This really was so typical of Stan and the honor of being his friend.
I will see you in heaven my dear friend.

Stan DeFehr was one of the smartest, talented, and handsomest guys I ever knew, on top of these just an all around kind, generous, charming, thoughtful, and loving friend, especially charming. He was a very good athlete, baseball, basketball, and football player, and a great fan. One of my best memories of him is when I was in 10th grade. I walked into Mrs. Spanns geometry class one afternoon and there on her side desk facing the seats was a personal TV, apparently brought from someones home. Mrs. Spann was pretty strict and normally all business as a math teacher. That day, however, she let us watch the World Series instead of having class! I thought to myself, Who the hell could have talked Mrs. Spann into this. You guessed it: Stan DeFehr.
Just over two years later, Stan was helping in training me how to sell Bible reference books in Mississippi door-to-door. After working all morning, we stopped for lunch. Stan told our waitress how tired we were, asked for extra large slices of apple pie, and then turned on that smile of his. Ill be darned if she didnt give us both a slice that was 1.5 times that of a normal slice. I just thought, There are some skills that some of us have and others of us dont have, incomparable charm in this case. Stan always had the It factor, whatever It is. I know he will be sorely missed. God bless you, Stan, always. ❤Someday beyond the blue.
