Charlene Melton Obituary

Charlene J. Melton, 87, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016.

She was married to John R. Melton for 57 years.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.R. Melton; her daughter, Brenda Baker; and seven siblings. She is survived by her sister, Helen Davidoski of LaPorte, TX; her son, Jimmy and Diane Melton of Prescott, AZ; her daughter, Sharon and Rick Hancox of Lone Jack, MO; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Charlene's visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, at New Salem Funeral Home, 1823 N. Blue Mills Road, Independence, MO; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice in Independence, or to St. Mary's Manor in Blue Springs.
