Cynthia Jo "Cindy" West

1956 - 2017

Cynthia Jo "Cindy" West, 61, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, at KU Medical Center.

Cremation is planned; with a memorial service to be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Lenexa Community of Christ, 17620 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66220. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lenexa Community of Christ or to one of the local hospice organizations in the Kansas City area.

Cindy was born February 2, 1956, in Unionville, Mo., to Robert and Betty Jo (Knowles) Crawford and moved to Independence at an early age. She graduated from William Chrisman in 1974 and later received a BS in Education from CMSU. She had worked as a pre-school teacher for a number of years. She was a beloved wife and mother who enjoyed reading mystery novels, traveling to the beach and most of all spending time with her granddaughter. She was a member of the Lenexa Community of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Blake West of the home; a son, Josh West and his fiancé, Caitlin Rumph, of Lenexa, Kan.; her granddaughter, Makayla West and her mother, Jo Crawford, of Independence, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Sheri Adams in 2010; and her father, Bob Crawford.
