Dennis McDaniel Obituary

Dennis Lee McDaniel
Gig Harbor, WA - Dennis Lee McDaniel passed away Saturday May 01, 2021 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA.
Dennis was born August 06, 1952 in Auburn, Indiana to Douglas J. McDaniel and Helen (Parks) McDaniel.
He attended Truman High School in Independence, MO, and at 17 years of age he enlisted in the United States Navy. While stationed in Bremerton, WA, he met his wife Diann. They had two sons together (Doug and Pat) in addition to her son Troy and daughter Darcy, whom he loved and raised as his own.
After his Naval service he became a truck driver, a career that concluded with 15 years of service to Auction Transport Inc., retiring in 2010.
Dennis was a fiercely loyal man who valued his friends and family above all else. He was kind, compassionate and generous. He was a man of Christian faith. An outdoorsman skilled in hunting and fishing, he also had a passion for horse racing. So on the day of the 147th Annual running of the Kentucky Derby, Dennis passed away as the Announcer delivered those infamous words, "And they're off".
God Bless you Dennis, may you rest in peace.
Survived by siblings Patrick J. McDaniel (Gloria), Cindy Cosner (Tim), Judy Wiley (David). Children Darcy Lewandowski (John), Troy Hall (Angel), Doug McDaniel, Patrick G. McDaniel (Heather). Grandchildren Aiyana, Kailon, Braylon, Caitlyn, Cameron, Alayna, Kevin, Cody and Sheena. Great Grandchildren Elijah, Xander and Bennett. Nieces Becky, Kelly. Nephew Tim.
