DOUGLAS EUGENE ROBE Douglas Eugene Robe, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 26, 2024, in Blue Springs, Mo. Born on August 8, 1941, in Santa Monica, Calif., Douglas grew up in Eureka, Kan., where he graduated from Eureka High School in 1959. He pursued higher education at Babson Midwest Institute and the College of Emporia, earning his degree in 1967. Douglas proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 during the Vietnam War, exemplifying his dedication to his country. After his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career with Sears, where he worked for 24 years before retiring in 1992. A man of profound faith and community spirit, Douglas was an active member of his church and served as a Scout Master for Troop 603, leaving a lasting impact on many young lives. His commitment to service and mentorship was a testament to his generous spirit. Douglas is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Beth, his son Adam, and his beloved granddaughters, Hailey and Chloe Robe. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Russell (Jim), sisters-in-law Claire Moore Redmond and Terry Sholty (Don), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Robe, his brother C.R. Robe, and his grandparents, Clarence and Kitty DeLong, and Roy and Ida Robe. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at First Christian Church, 701 NW 15th St., Blue Springs. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Micah Ministries or Freezin for a Reason through First Christian Church.
