Lyle Watkins Obituary

Lyle E. Watkins, 72, of Independence, MO, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

Visitation will be at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO, from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015. Services will follow the visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Six Mile Cemetery.

Lyle was born on February 3, 1943, in Japton, AR, to Charlie and Lizzie (Orman) Watkins. Lyle worked for Lake City for over 29 years. He had been a member of Susquehanna Baptist Church for over 30 years. Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening in his spare time.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Gail Redford Watkins; son Charles Watkins I; grandson Charles Watkins II; brothers Larry Watkins and Tip Watkins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dee and Gary Watkins, and a sister Loretta Slape.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice.
