Along with her stalwart, widowed mother and two youngest siblings who visited from Beloit, Ks., I was most privileged to know Nancy, my roommate at Watkins Scholarship Hall at KU. Although Nancy was a dedicated pre-med student and the most Herculean studier the world has ever known, she was also our Watkins Hall candidate for "Miss Res Ipsa Loquitor," the campus KU Law School queen. Furthermore, she was mistress of the sewing machine, designing and fashioning from a standard pattern her own wedding gown years later when she married Duncan. . . She somehow managed to be both sweet and firm--and to instruct, without being pedantic, in such a way you never forgot. During one of our visits, she had to go for a few minutes to her lab in Blue Springs. She took me along and intriguingly pointed out some of the fine, elusive (to me) points of a few iffy Pap smears. One hates to use cliches, but it is no idle cliche to say that she was the sweetest person I've ever known. Requiescat in Pace, dear Nancy.

I had the good fortune to work with Dr Litton since April 11, 1988. Her passion for patient care and quality was beyond reproach. All the while coaching you to be the same. She will be sorely missed but her smile and passion will carry on forever. I was blessed to have know her. God's healing and patience to her family.
