Wilma Dunlap Obituary

Wilma (Smart) Dunlap, 96, of Independence, Mo., died Monday, May 11, 2015.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence.

Wilma was born July 25, 1918, to A.G. (Bert) and Lenna Cook Smart in Eads, Colorado, and moved to Independence in 1948. She retired in 1983 from the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital, where she had been employed in the Business and Accounting offices for 27 years. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Lenna Smart; brothers, Donald Smart and Clyde Smart; and sister, Anna Mae Gard.

She is survived by one brother, Paul Smart of Kearney, Missouri; two sisters, Bonnie Thomas and Betty Stobaugh, both of Independence, Missouri; 19 nieces and nephews; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
