Anne Fulton Obituary
Anne M. Fulton
June 26, 1932 - September 13, 2024
Anne M. Fulton, 92, passed away peacefully on September 13th, surrounded by her family.
Anne was a rare combination of warmth, wit, beauty, intellect and style. She was an eternal optimist, loved baseball (dating back to the Brooklyn Dodgers games she attended with her dad) and welcomed opportunities to help others; many conversations with Anne often ended with, "What can I do for you?".
A native of Bethpage, NY, Anne graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Syosset, NY and Katharine Gibbs School in New York City. Anne married James Fulton in 1957, and they raised their three children in Fairfield, CT.
Anne's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and to her community. She also had a lifelong love of music, inspired by her talented mother, Helen Ahern - no home of Anne's was complete without her piano and her mother's sheet music. She was an active volunteer in the Fairfield Public Schools and with the School Volunteer Association in Bridgeport. Her spirit of service extended to her faith communities at St. John Vianney Parish in Southport and St. Luke Parish in Westport, where she actively contributed to parish life.
Following a move to Boston, Anne became a valued administrative assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital's Institute for Health Policy and was an active member of St. Paul's Parish in Cambridge. In her later years, Anne moved to Washington, DC, where she volunteered at the White House and joyfully engaged in her grandchildren's lives.
Anne is survived by her devoted children and their families: Christopher and his wife, Marnie Ellis Fulton, of Atlanta, GA; Kathryn and her husband, Robert Kyle, of Chevy Chase, MD; Cheryl Rose of Denver, CO, her cherished grandchildren, Grace, Ryan, and Harrison; her sister, Mary Kay Looney and her brother, Jeremiah Ahern, both of Farmingdale, NY. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband of 39 years, Jim, her son Anthony, and her grandson Ty.
Anne's legacy of love, grace, humor and service will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
