Stephen McInerney of New Milford, CT, passed away on June 15th, in Waterbury, CT. Born on August 23, 1950, in Seattle, he was the beloved son of Thomas and Patricia McInerney.
Stephen attended St. Joseph's School and Seattle Prep. He was a talented cellist, playing for many years with youth orchestras in Seattle and in Bridgeport, CT. In college, he continued his musical pursuits with the Fairfield University String Ensemble and also became a proficient guitar player.
Stephen graduated with a BA in English from Fairfield University in Connecticut and went on to earn a master's degree in counseling from St. Joseph College in Hartford, CT. He also became a licensed massage therapist, dedicating himself to the well-being of others.
Stephen had a love of the outdoors and spent time camping and exploring nature. His commitment to fitness and health was evident in his active lifestyle. He was an avid bicyclist and often participated in cycling events, some for charity. His commitment to these causes was a testament to his generous spirit.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Anne Wansker, and his brother, David. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucindia, and his cherished children, Ben, Emily, and Liam, and Emily's partner, Sebastian Flores, and Liam's wife, Megan. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Sara, brothers, Brian and Thomas, nieces, Rebecca and Lauren, and many friends.
A devoted and cherished family man, Stephen will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
His legacy of love, music, and service to others will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
