BILL JAMES LOCKLEAR
MAXTON — Rev. Bill James Locklear, 80, of Maxton, was born Aug. 4, 1940, in Richmond County, to Alice Harris Locklear and Brady Locklear. He entered into his Heavenly home on July 4, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Prospect United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Preacher Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Della O. Locklear; his parents, Alice and Brady Locklear; a brother, Willie James "Bootie" Jones; and an infant son, Darryl Locklear.
He is survived by his son, Trent Locklear (Alaina); a daughter, Allison L. Jacobs (Patrick); grandchildren, Ashli Brook McDowell (Terrell), Leah Morgan Locklear, Elam Brady Jacobs, Glenn Cole Locklear, and Bryce James Locklear; a great-grandchild, Layla McDowell; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Prospect United Methodist Church.
