ROGER DALE BARTON
LUMBERTON — Roger Dale Barton, 67, began his earthly journey Aug. 26, 1953.
His spiritual journey began Sept. 18, 1980. He entered into his heavenly home on May 19, 2021. There he was greeted by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Baby Girl Barton; parents, Berna and Lewis Barton; three brothers, Ernie, Garry and Bruce; two sisters, Mary Ruth and Renee.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston Cemetery.
Roger was a devoted father to Ashley Locklear, Valerie Barton and Holly Barton. Roger was a loving grandfather to Bryan, Johnathan, Ziva, Tammy and Porchelin. Roger was a passionate family man and loved his siblings. He leaves his legacy and knowledge of the Barton history to his brother, Ricky (Miranda); his two sisters, Connie (John), and Gloria (Jimmy); also a caring sister-in-law, Barbara.
Over time Roger gathered many special friends whom he considered family; like his son-in-law, who became his hero, Eric Locklear; Ms. Frances Locklear, Rachel Dial and Erika Locklear; and many, many more.
He will be missed by those he loved and those who loved him, including many nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives.
