Donald Wallace Obituary

Wanamingo - Donald Oren Wallace, 70, of Wanamingo, Minnesota passed away on May 8th, 2025, after a battle of nine months with cancer. He was born on September 9, 1954, to Donald Edward and Ila Ruth (Quaintance) Wallace in Owatonna, Minnesota. He attended high school in Medford. After a stint in the Marine Corps, he worked various jobs around the country. Most recently he worked at Wal-Mart, Faribault Foods and Kwik Trip.

Don loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood, planting hollyhocks, and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed visits from his coworkers in the later stages of his life.

He is survived by siblings, Daniel (Carina) of Des Moines, IA, Cheryl (James) Kyllo of Wanamingo, David of Faribault, Douglas of Red Wing and Dewey of Wanamingo; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ila Ruth Wallace; sister, Nancy Wallace; brother, Dickey Wallace; and niece, Tara Wallace.

Donald's cremation is being handled by Maxon Family Cremation and Life Celebrations, and as per his wishes there will be no funeral. Remember him by his works and deeds, plant some hollyhocks, or whatever you choose.

He will be missed by all who knew him, including Denali and Athos, who greeted him every time he visited his second home.
