Ronald was born in Albert Lea on July 24th, 1937 to Clarence and Rose (Ruzek) Kjos. The family moved to the Union Creamery in Steele County when he was 2 years old. He grew up there and went to school in the Blooming Prairie area and later graduated from Dodge Center. After high school, he went in the Army and was stationed in Germany for 1 1/2 years and the reserves after that. Ron met his wife, Jean Dale at the bowling alley in Owatonna. Ron had many interests - fishing, bowling, woodworking, golfing (he got a hole in one in 2014). After retirement Ron collected tabs (beer or pop) and donated over 2 million to the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis. He has another million on hand. He always enjoyed spending time at Le Mieux's Resort on Cedar Lake. He's a member of the Cedar Lake Sportsman's Club, Cedar Lake Association, where he made a directory of the lake. He was also a member of the Elks and Eagles in Owatonna and American Legion, Post 149 in Morristown. Ron looked forward to his annual fishing trip in the fall to Winnie with family and friends.
