Timothy Hanlon Obituary
Palm Bay, Florida - Today, we celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man. Timothy Hubert Hanlon was born and raised in Faribault, Minnesota. He attended IC, Bethlehem Academy BA, and St. Cloud University .
From an early age, his drive and curiosity set him apart. This curiosity and optimism motivated his choices throughout his life. He recognized the potential of the computer industry long before most, seeing its possibilities in a world still learning what this technology would do.
He married the love of his life, Carla, and together they journeyed far beyond the Minnesota plains. Tim's ambition and foresight led him to identify opportunities within the emerging computer tech sector for the printing industry in the 1960s. His journey took him across the U.S., from Arizona to Ohio to Florida, and then overseas to Germany, the birthplace of the printing press. There, he founded his own international company, establishing himself as a reliable partner throughout Europe, including Ireland, England, France, the Vatican City, Finland, Russia, Africa, Mexico, and even China. Timothy's brave and dedicated nature made him a trusted figure in the traditional analog newspaper industry.
After decades abroad, Tim returned to the U.S., serving as a consulting expert in the digital transformation of newspapers. His insight and expertise helped countless organizations adapt to the modern age, unintentionally leaving an indelible mark on the way we received our news.
Despite his professional achievements, his greatest pride was his family. He was the devoted husband of Carla (Hellerud) and father of Kenneth and Timothy Thomas. He relished his Irish Catholic roots as the son of John C. Hanlon and Catherine (Gilday). Tim was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Daniel (Dan), John (Jack), and James (Jim).
He is survived by his wife and sons and his siblings: Patricia Mulligan, Michael (Janet), Thomas, Kathleen, Patrick, and Ronald, and numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Though he has left us, his legacy will live on; some footsteps are not meant to be washed away by the waves of time. His joking and colorful spirit shaped the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be missed dearly. He passed away on Sept. 9th, 2024, in Palm Bay, Florida.
Services are to be held in Palm Bay, Florida, at Our Lady of Grace Church on October 2nd, 2024, at 1 p.m.
