Darrell Compton Obituary
February 26, 1950 - March 14, 2026
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father and "Paw Paw" on March 14, 2026. Darrell was born Feb. 26, 1950 to the late Shade Compton and the late Virgie Compton-Fleming.
Darrell was a hardworking man who always enjoyed the simple life: good food, his family and friends. Paw Paw loved sitting on his front porch telling stories of his youth in Southwest Virginia coal country, a good flea market or just sitting his in favorite chair listening to music – he always preferred bluegrass.
Darrell is survived by his children Adam (Lisa) Compton, Lori Compton, Patrick (Meghan) Compton, sister-in-law Teresa Compton; brother-in-law Lowell (Vicki) Bott; sister-in-law Ruth Bott; grandchildren Tabatha, Samantha, Kayla, Katelyn, Ayden, Lauren, Tristan, Brandon, Nick, Caleb, and great-grandson Malachi. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda, his parents including Grady Fleming, brother Kenneth, sister Christine (Johnny) Stallard, and brother-in-laws Ralph and Loring Bott.
Paw Paw was a very quiet man who spoke softly but was always listening, and honest with his opinions and his love for his family.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
