Robert Darden Simpson, age 80, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 20th, 2025 at his home in Warrenton, VA. He was born on November 17th, 1944 in Holland, VA, son of the late Jim & Elise Simpson. The Lord said, "Son, your work on earth is done"

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Brenda Lee Simpson (nee Godfrey); two children, Melinda Dewey & her husband, Pat and Kevin Simpson & his wife, Melodee; four siblings, Kelly Simpson, Joyce McCauley, Earl Simpson and John Simpson; six grandchildren, Daniel, Amber, Courtney, Allison, Ryan and Zachariah; and three great grandchildren, Arianna, Angela and Kyndall.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by four siblings, Leroy Simpson, Catherine Knowlton, Polly Edwards and Bill Simpson; and grandson, Little J.R.

Robert owned and operated Blue Ridge Flooring for over 40 years. People would see his white van coming down the road with the sign, 'Blue Ridge Flooring', and the logo of the little man behind the sanding machine. They'd say, "There goes Robert Simpson, 'Satch Mo'. Thousands of people have his floors in their homes today.

Robert also loved playing golf, cards, coon hunting and dancing. He loved flowers, the beauty and smell of them, and watching them grow. Robert loved his family so much, and he will be sorely missed.
