Donald Ayers Obituary

STEDMAN - Donald Hall "Donnie" Ayers, of Stedman, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at his home. He was born in Cumberland County, March 16, 1965, to William Carey Ayers and Eleanor Hall Ayers. He was a lifelong resident of Stedman and graduated from Cape Fear High School in 1983. He was a member of Stedman Baptist Church. To Donnie, a stranger was a friend that he had not yet met. The pride of his life was his family and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandbaby in May. Donnie was an extremely loyal friend, coming to anyone's rescue regardless of the hour. He was a devoted father, brother, son and employee. He proudly worked with C&C Top Shop for 26 years, and many times was lovingly referred to as "Donnie Crumpler. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, William Carey Ayers; grandparents, Ira and Lora Neill Ayers and Arthur and Mallie Hall; sister-in-law, Sherry Lynn Ayers; and a nephew, William Carey Ayers III. Left to cherish his memory are a son, Chadwick Hall Ayers (Hayley); daughter, Brittney Nicole Ayers; his mama, Eleanor Ayers Hairr and stepdaddy, Wilbert; sister, Dawn Ayers Bryant; brother, William Carey Ayers Jr.; nieces and nephews, Melisa Tyndall, Megan Tyndall Matthews and husband Jarrod, Michael Bryant, Madison Bryant, Brittany Johnson and James Bryce Ayers; stepbrothers; Adam Hairr, John Hairr and wife Jackie and their daughter, Kate. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Stedman Baptist Church with Dr. Philip Spears and the Rev. Charles Crumpler Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Fisher Cemetery on Magnolia Church Road in Stedman. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
