Mark Davis Obituary

HOPE MILLS - Mark Andrew Davis, 69, of Hope Mills, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in Fayetteville. Mr. Davis was born in Pulaski County, Va., on June 30, 1939, and was the son of the late Henry A. Davis and Effie R. Adams. He also was preceded in death by brothers, Pierce Adams, Henry A. Davis Jr., Thomas Davis and Kyle A. "Bobby" Davis; and sisters, Evelyn Bratton and Lula Dawn Richardson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter, Debbie Amos of Ridgeway, Va.; grandson, Christopher Amos of Ridgeway; sisters, Louise Harris of Barren Springs, Va., Iris Pennington of Barren Springs and Elizabeth Seagle of Dublin, Va.; brothers, Joseph Earl Davis of Richmond, Va., and James Roy Davis of Bassett, Va.; and companion, Rose Marie Helfin. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, from Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Va., with the Rev. Danny McGlothlin officiating. Burial was in Drapers Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery in Wythe County, Va., with the Radford VFW Post No. 776 conducting military graveside rites. Visitation was Sunday at the funeral home in Virginia. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home of Pulaski.
