I had know idea you had passed Dr. Melvin i just found out today. I am sadden that u are gone. U were the best doctor i had ever had at clark clinic. I was so sad when u left clark. Thank u for being there for me in so many ways, especially when i lost my husband, u were so supportive and for that i will always be greatful. Thank u Dr. Shirley Melvin. Gone but never forgotten.

The charter members of the Truemilla Smith Missionary Unit at St.Joseph AME Church in Durham,NC have fond memories of Shirley, as she was instrumental in spearheading projects to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.Our prayers are with the family.

Dr. Melvin, truly you WILL be missed. The wisdom, the laughs, the advice and the prayers will certainly be missed! You were such a wonderful person who stood firmly by what you believed and with that same passion you served the Kingdom. No one will EVER be able to replace you but I will cherish the relationship we had for the rest of my life.
