Nancy Jewell Obituary
Nancy graduated from East High School Green Bay in 1950 where she was a member of the high school band. Her favorite memory was playing the trombone and marching at Green Bay Packer games and was a lifelong Packer fan.
Nancy graduated from Beloit College, Wisconsin in 1954. While attending Beloit, she met her husband Bob Jewell and was married in June 1954. Her husband Bob was an IBM Executive, and married life was filled with many moves, to many cities, in many states. Nancy loved the adventure of each move.
She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. Weekend and Holiday dinner parties were always on her agenda. One special memory is when Nancy surprised Bob with cooking classes for them at the Greenbriar. Along with the busy life of raising her children, Nancy was active with church committees, community work, school activities, needlepoint and jewelry making.
Her favorite organization outside of her church was the women's organization P.E.O. which supports women to further their education with loans, grants and scholarships. When Bob retired from IBM in 1987, they moved to Sarasota, Florida, built a new house, and spent 12 wonderful years there. In 2006 they continued their life adventure by relocating to Osprey Village Senior Community at Amelia Island Plantation in Florida.
Nancy is predeceased by her parents, older brother Eddie, older sister Patti, and twin sister Betsy. She is survived by her husband Bob of 71 years and four loving children: daughter Jennifer Dedels (Ron), son Bob Jewell (Debby), daughter Carolyn Escherich (Kyle) and son Jim Jewell (Denise), nine Grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren. She also leaves behind close family friends Deb and Chris Boelkes.
Rather than flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Nancy's
memory and sent by check to: Life Care Center of Hilliard, 3756 W. 3rd Street, Hilliard, Florida 32046.
