Barbara Lee Kight

Barbara Lee Kight, 91 of Perrysville, IN went to be with the Lord June 19th, 2024 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice care in Terre Haute, IN surrounded by loved ones. Born to Oscar and Eva Lanham on January 19, 1933. Barb married Darrell Kight on 06/16/1950 in rural Covington, IN. A love that span 74 years until their dying breath. Darrell preceded her in death on March 31, 2010.
Barb was a stay at home mom who transitioned to the work force. She was manager of Liberty Hardware for many years. Darrell and Barb then retired to Florida as snowbirds coming home to family in the summers. After Darrell's passing, Barb returned to Indiana and the work force until January 2024. She enjoyed traveling, would clean anything, and spend quality time with family, with a special place in her heart for her grandkids and great grandkids. She was the best Mom, Grandma, Gigi and friend we could ask for.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and beloved son, Stephen Darrell, Sisters Geraldine Wilcoxen, Fran Hay, and Mary Ellen Richardson.
Barb is survived by daughters Patricia (Wayne) Whittington of Kingman, IN, Lori (Stan) Rife of Ridge Farm, IL; Grandchildren, Bryon Kight, Shawn Kight, Nichole (JD) Spencer, Sarah (Josh) Cox, Jessica (Bryce) Leeman, Ashley (Layn) White and 14 precious great grandchildren.
With a very SPECIAL thank you to Barbara Nichole for all the love, knowledge, and help giving Mom, Grandma, Gigi the love and respect she so deserved to the very end.
A visitation was held from 12- 2 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home's Covington Chapel, located at 420 3rd Street. A funeral service celebrating her life followed at 2 pm. She was placed to rest next to Darrell at Riverside Cemetery in Attica following the services. Memorials can be made to Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, IN and or Gibson Family Hospice Unit, Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
