David Bernarte Obituary

VEEDERSBURG - David Bernarte, 81, Veedersburg, passed away in the Waters of Covington, on Friday, April 15, 2016, at 2:05 p.m.
David was born in Attica, on Sept. 26, 1934. He was the son of the late Carl and Rosia (Jackson) Bernarte. David grew up in the Riverside community east of Attica. He attended school in Independence. He had resided in Veedersburg for over 50 years.
David had worked at various places in the Veedersburg area. They included the Brick Yard and Fountain Foundry in Veedersburg; Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica; for the Town of Veedersburg and the Rest Park on I-74.
David enjoyed his leisure time fishing and listening to music by Johnny Cash and Elvis.
David married Donna L. Hall on Dec. 4, 1965. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1982.
He leaves behind a daughter, Dina L. (Lloyd) Robbins, Veedersburg; three sons, Clyde Kell, Clarks Hill; Jerry Kell, California and Michael Kell, Lafayette; four grandchildren, Nichole Maxfield, Neale Robbins, Tia Robbins and Raina Leal; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis Lee Bernarte; two sisters, Isabell and Allie Bernarte; four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Henry and Everett Bernarte.
Funeral services were held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on April 19 with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
