Helen DeLong, 85, earned her angel wings and passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She married Gerald E. DeLong, the love of her life of 65 years, and he survives.
Helen was a gift to us all and anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Her smile and loving nature will be forever missed. "The strength of those who wait with hope in the lord will be renewed; they will soar on wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31.
She is also survived by one brother, four sisters, and four children, JoAnn (Paul) Brubaker of Hamler, Ohio, Debbie (Jode) Hoover of Brandon Fla., David (Denise) DeLong of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Laura Wachtmann of Fayette; 12 grandchildren, Jason (Ruth) Elledge, Josh (Heather) Stump, Ryan (Crystal) Stump, Justin Williams, Stacia (Pedro) Williams, Alyssa Williams, Christopher (Rachel) Hoover, Anna Hoover, Adam Delong, Devin Delong, Brandon (Erin) Wachtmann, and Braden Wachtmann; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous family, friends, and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, and her oldest son, Gerald S. Delong.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Henry County Hospice.
