R. DUANE EASH
R. Duane Eash, 75, of Archbold passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at his winter home in Bradenton, Fla. He was born June 10, 1938, at Holsopple, Pa., the son of the late Robert and Edna (Blough) Eash. He married Mary Alice Sauder on Oct. 5, 1957, and she survives.
A resident of the Archbold/Wauseon area many years, he was a painter, and then a carpenter, and for 26 years owned Eash Builders, until retiring in 2000. He built many homes including the majority of the duplexes in Fairlawn Village. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and doing puzzles. He was a member of Tedrow Mennonite Church.
He is also survived by five children, Keith (Katherine) Eash and Beverly (Darryl) Iott, both of Wauseon, Denise Alexander of Bradenton, Fla., Lonnie (Debbie) Eash of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Jason Eash of Springfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Sanford (Linda) Eash of Wauseon; one sister, Ruth (Gene) Klopfenstein of Pettisville; and one brother-in-law, Darrel Kempf of Pettiville.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Clifford E. Nofziger; one grandson; and one sister, Mary Ellen Kempf.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Tedrow Mennonite Church, with Pastors Doug King and Ryan Nafziger officiating. Interment will precede at 10 a.m. in Pettisville Cemetery.
Friends may call 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the church.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
The family suggests that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society, the Kyle Alexander Fund (to bring him here for treatment at Sara's Garden), or the donor's choice.
