Terry Willeman Obituary

Terry "T" Willeman, 62, of Wauseon passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice. He was born in Wauseon on April 4, 1953, to the late Bernard Willeman and Elizabeth (Hutchison) Willeman. On March 22, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Maria Willson, in Lyons, and she survives.

Terry was a veteran who served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Before retiring, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Miller Brothers Construction. Terry will always be remembered for his quick humor, wit, and being a jokester. He had many hobbies including motorcycle riding, playing cards, supporting his Cleveland Browns, bird watching, being an eBay enthusiast, and hosting friends at his garage tavern, "T's Place." Terry also enjoyed camping with his family at Greenvalley Camp Grounds in Morenci, and baking and cooking, especially anything with seafood. Most of all, he was a family man and loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, always supporting them in their school and sporting activities. Terry was a member of F&AM with the Palmetto Lodge in Florida, and IUOE Local 18 in Toledo.

Also surviving are his children, Jody (Amy) Willeman, Jason (Kelly) Willeman, and Mindy (Steve) Cheney; brother, Tom (Cheryl) Willeman; sisters, Margaret Ann Bashor and Jeannie Ham; grandchildren, Jake, Garret, and Drew Willeman, Evan (Amy) Hibbard, Peyton and Mariah Willeman, and Lindsey, Ayden, and Wynn Cheney; and a great-grandchild, Ava Hibbard.

A memorial service celebrating Terry's life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Pettisville Missionary Church, 19055 County Road D in Pettisville, where special memories and stories to be shared are encouraged during the service. Pastor Rex Stump will be officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends and family will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Barnes Funeral Chapel in Delta.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Community Health Professionals, Defiance Inpatient Hospice, 6817 State Route 66N, Defiance, Ohio 43512 in his name.

Dear Maria & family,
Ken & I were so sad to hear of Terry`s passing. He will be missed so much by all. Even though we hadn`t seen him much in the past few years....those few times we did were so worthwhile. He was the kind of guy that could make you smile no matter what! His sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor is something we all will miss. He was a special guy who left such a positive impression on so many lives. I wish we were home so we could come to his memorial, but we are away at this time. Please accept our sincere sympathy and know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Ken & Kris James
