Amy Krieser Obituary

Amy Krieser

Mayville - Amy B. Krieser, 62 of Mayville, WI passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Amy was born on October 26, 1956 the daughter of Lawrence & Katherine (nee Bachhuber) Krieser in Waupun, WI.

Amy was a 1974 graduate of Mayville High School. Amy loved to work, She owned and operated the Texaco Station and held titles such as cemetery caretaker, golf club caretaker, school bus driver, dump truck driver, meat market, bartender and most recently, forklift driver. Amy would help anyone with any projects they had and wasn't afraid to try anything. She loved Mayville and was very active in the community. She made sure the train in Foster Park was up every year for the Festival of Lights and was instrumental in starting the first Audubon Days Parade and keeping our local establishments open.

She loved to play baseball, sheepshead and was an avid golfer. From 1976 to 2007, Amy held the Mayville Golf Club Woman's Championship title 16 times. She was also received The Mayville Athletic Booster Club "Katie" Award in 1987. Amy was an excellent cook and you could randomly find a meal dropped off at your house. She loved people and was the most social person ever. She would lend a helping hand to anyone. Punctuality was not one of Amy's strong traits. If you had plans with Amy at 4:00 it was usually 7:00 before it happened, and then she'd say, "Well I saw so and so or I had to stop here quick".

Those Amy leaves behind are her Soul Sister Mary (Dan) Halfman of Fond du Lac. Siblings: Pat (Dave) Shikoski, Fond du Lac, Andy (Cindy) Krieser, Mayville, Michele (Supe) Krieser, Mayville, Cindy (Munch) Mike Woods of Coram, MT, Kurt (Marcia) Krieser, Mayville and Molly (Hans) Henkel of Mayville, Brother-in-law, Gene Wendorff, West Bend. My sincere condolences to the Krieser family. I will always remember Amy from the first time I met her as a senior in high school then playing softball with her for 10 years on Ma's Place women's team. We had so much fun. She was always up to something and just fun to be around. She was the true spirit of Mayville, always willing to help others in need and just being involved in the community. Her adventurous spirit and fun loving ways will be missed, but not forgotten by all that knew and loved her for who she was.

I'm so sorry for your loss & the loss to the Mayville community. Amy was a great friend to my family. When l was married she drove my mother (Cindy), grandmother (Flo Froemming), Lorainne Sorgent (Mutzy) and the CA cellars proprietor Tony Scallon to my wedding. Amy being the lets go personality got them to Minnesota in a record time. My best man, Mike, commented about the crazy party going on at the hotel and laughed it was in your mom's, grandma's, and Amy's room and its only 3pm! The rare times l could get back to Mayville my wife and l , who absolutely loved Amy, would look forward to seeing her downtown at a local establishment. Thank you for your love of Mayville and how important you were in my family & many more in Mayville.

Amy was an asset to the city of Mayville. How well I remember she and DECA Rod working together with the students on that first monumentally successful Audubon Day's Celebration as well as all the celebrations that followed. Ahhh, the infamous button machine! Amy's cheery smile and catchy laughter will always be remembered.

I was privileged to be a part of the mischief when all the 40th birthdays were happening. Who besides Amy could figure out how to make an elephant out of John Youngbeck's oil truck for Mel Drinkwine's 40th birthday parade? Just over a year ago she came into "The Library bar" at the Mayville Inn with tokens from "the Mayville Inn" demanding a drink . The tokens were from the old hotel, on Main Street, when it was named "The Mayville Inn" YEARS ago.

Heaven will never be the same.
