David T. Murray

David T. Murray, 69, passed away in his sleep January 25 at home in The Hague, Netherlands. He was born January 15, 1952 in Fond du Lac to the late Edward and Verda (May) Murray. Upon the death of his parents David was raised by his sister Sandy and her husband Chuck. David was an avid baseball player growing up and years later helping strengthen and up the game for youth baseball with his sons in Holland. Graduating from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1970 he embarked on a life of travel and adventure worldwide only stopping to hone his self taught carpentry and painting skills until it was time to travel again. David was also an accomplished scuba diver and cross country skier. Upon traveling he met and later married Willemien Van Dorp and planted roots in Delft, NL later to The Hague. His two sons were the light of his life bringing him joy until his last day. He was proud of his Dutch and American citizenship always keeping his rights as an American alive. Great Dave will be forever loved and missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Willemien, son Thom (Teresa) of The Hague, NL, his son Dirk (Filipa) of London, ENG. Sister Sandy Ahner, niece (little sis chubs) Kathy Gill (Blaise) and nephew and Godson Robert Ahner all of Fond du Lac. Brother Steve Murray of Waukesha, many great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Murray, brother in law Chuck Ahner, aunts, uncles, numerous other relatives as well as some dear friends. Please keep a special place in your heart as we always will for David. He left this world a happy man. We are all heartbroken it happened so soon. Cremation has taken place.

Growing up in Fond du Lac, I was very fortunate to get to know Dave and call him a friend. He will be missed by many of us who were lucky to enjoy his company and friendship. Rest In Peace my friend.
