God has another GREAT GUY NEXT to him now. Some of my best time was living next door on Follett St.to Elmer and Esther. Elmer always had time to share with my 3 kid's and myself. I will never forget the long talks we had or even the short Hi what's new convesations. Elmer was a true friend. I like to think of the great smiles he has put on my kid's face. I truely believed he showed them how to live life to it's fullest and always smile
Miss you Buddy. Esther you were a lucky lady to have had such a great man.God bless you Esther

Dear Aunt Esther and my cousins,
Tony and I are so very sorry for your loss. Uncle Elmer was my favorite uncle, always so funny, happy, and full of life. I can't ever remember him not being happy, and he had the greatest smile. I never, ever thought of Uncle Elmer as being "old", as he was so young at heart (and very good looking!). I'm so glad I got to see you last month, Aunt Esther, at our mini "family reunion" and only wish I could have seen Uncle Elmer, too.
God brought another angel home. May He bless all of you!
Love, Lollie and Tony

I met Elmer a few years back, and the one thing that always puts a smile on my face, when I think of him is that he had such a spark for life. That spark was ageless and I will never forget that. Rest in peace Elmer and pave the way for the rest of us.

Sympathy to Elmer's family. He was a very giving man.
Elmer was a special volunteer for Agnesian Hospice Hope. He did many things for many people and certainly touched many hearts. He will be missed. It was my priviledge to know him. Char Bohnsack

Ester and Family, I had the pleasure and honor of knowing Elmer and Ester when my family and I lived in FDL and I ushered with Elmer at Saint Mary's Church. Elmer always had a great sense of humor and a smile on his face. My sympathy goes out to Ester and the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was fortunate enough to have worked with Elmer at State Patrol District three.
Elmer was a friend and was always there to assist anyone who needed it.
I have thought of him often since I departed D3.
He will be missed.

I only worked with Elmer for a short time while at the State Patrol, but he definitely was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. He would make the troopers/inspectors clap their hands when they walked into "his" supply room to make sure they weren't taking something they shouldn't. Haaaa
What a good man. God Bless Sue "hummer" White

My deepest sympathy to Aunt Esther and all the family. Elmer was a kind man with a great sense of humor and I enjoyed seeing him. Last summer when I went by Elmer & Esther with my dad Rollie and stepmom Sharon it was a wondeful visit for 2 hours and Elmer showed us all the pictures of his visit to Washington as an honored veteran and it was a special time.I am very sad for all of you for the loss of such a wonderful husband and father, grandpa, brother and really for all of us that were lucky enough to have Elmer in our lives. Gods peace be with you. Mary Wendt

Dear Ester and Family,
I want to express My Deepest Sympathy. I was so surprised, when I went on the internet and saw, Elmer had passed away. I talked to Mom and she said he had been ill. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your Family. God Bless.
