Gladys Samuel Obituary
Gladys Samuel passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015, in her apartment at Lake View Place.
Born in Neenah, Wisconsin, on August 5, 1924, she moved with her parents to Fond du Lac, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1942. She was united in marriage to Robert Samuel in 1946.
Gladys was a correctional officer at Taycheedah Correctional Institution from 1959 until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer at the historic Galloway House and Village. She and her husband were life-long members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Gladys was known for her friendly manner, delightful sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone. She loved her flower gardens, doing various crafts, attending National Legion Conventions with her husband, and most of all, she loved her family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband in 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally Kelly and Sally's husband, George Kelly of Madison and their daughters, Meredith Foster and her husband, David of Chicago, and Erin Kusch, and her husband, Will, of Honolulu. She is further survived by her son, Stan, of Sebring, Florida.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dwayne Clark, the staff of Lake View Place, and the support of Agnesian Home Care and Hospice Care.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Ledgeview Memorial Park with Rev. Brett Naumann officiating.

My sympathies to the family and friends of the Samuel's family. Gladys was truly a lovely lady. I grew to know her and Bob through Good Shepherd Church. She will be greatly missed by all. Gladys your finally at home in heaven, Gods Blessings.

I am so sorry for you. Your mom was a kind lady and always pleasant with me. I don't think I knew her first name because she was always Mrs. Samuels. Mothers are always special and we hate to see them go. May your fond memories help you thru the tough times.
