Jerome Baumhardt Obituary
Jerome "Jerry" Baumhardt, 68, of Eden passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born on March 13, 1949 in Fond du Lac, the son of Joe and Mary "Jean" (Yaeger) Baumhardt. He attended St. Mary's Grade School in Eden and graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1967. Jerry was in the Army Reserves from 1968 to 1972. On October 17, 1970, he married Sharon Mathers at St. Mary's Church in Eden. He drove truck for Baumhardt Sand and Gravel for over 40 years.
Jerry played softball for Green Acres baseball team for many years. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends especially sheepshead. Jerry also bowled in mens and mixed leagues for years and played on a horseshoe team. He looked forward to deer hunting each year with his sons and friends. He also played golf in a league with friends and Sharon as couples. Jerry was an Eden Fireman for over 30 years and belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters for many years.
Jerry enjoyed having the grandchildren at anytime. He liked playing board games and cards with them. He also took them on rides on his 4-wheeler; they were the light of his life.
Survivors include his wife Sharon, daughter Michelle "Schmoo" (Scott) Wood, sons Mike (special friend Judy) and Matt (Amy), daughter-in-law Karen, grandchildren Jordan, Zoey, Kylee, Mia, Brayson and Shaley, brothers Jim (Karen), John (Janey) and Jay (Vicky), sisters Joan (Dick) Kornitz and Jane (John) Davis, brother-in-law James (Rita) Mathers and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Jean and Sharon's parents Vern and Sadie Mathers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday, April 23rd at 4:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills, W1562 County Rd. B, Eden. Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and entombment will be Monday at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 23rd from 1:30 PM to time of Mass at Shepherd of the Hills Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated for Jerry's grandchildren.
