Joyce Klahn Obituary

Joyce E. Klahn, 88, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at St. Francis Home.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1922, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Jacob and Elsie Priepke Meyer.

On April 19, 1945, she married Floyd E. Klahn.

She was a cook for the Fond du Lac School District for over 24 years. She was a member of the American School Food Service Association; and the Wisconsin School Food Service Association.

Joyce was a member of Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran in Fond du Lac, for many years.

She is survived by twin sons: Donald (Brenda) Klahn and David (Elizabeth) Klahn, and a daughter, Janice (Greg) Opatik, all of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren: Mark, Jennifer, Julie, Stephanie and Laura; three great-grandchildren: Joshua, Tristin and Emilie; a sister, Doris Haag of Fond du Lac; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Meyer of Fond du Lac.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 24, 1980; a son, Kenneth Klahn; two brothers: Wayne (Milly) Meyer and Donald Meyer; two sisters: Marguerite (Richard) Soll and Lucille (Walter) Treptow; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Haag.

SERVICES: The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran, 363 S. Main St., Fond du Lac, with the Rev. Robert Rosenberg officiating.

Burial will follow in North Eldorado Cemetery.

VISITATION: The visitation will be at church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
