Kurt Kollmann Obituary

Fond du Lac - Kurt Kollmann (also known as Doc or Cowboy) passed away surrounded by his fellow campers aka the Crew on Saturday, July 3rd 2021. He passed away knowing that he was in the place he loved with people he loved and we are grateful for their years of friendship and care to our Dad.

He was born in Van Dyne to Frank and Dorothy Kollmann (née Essmann). He graduated from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac in 1969. Kurt had three kids from his first marriage to Suzanne which included Nicholas, Kristen, and Sherry.

In April 1994, he married Colleen Baccheschi (née Eaton) and gained two additional daughters Claudine and Bernadette (who he affectionately called Dean and Bear throughout their relationship). He created a loving and warm family and was welcomed with open arms into the Eaton clan. He also enjoyed a wonderful and happy career with Sadoff Iron and Metal for over 30 years--he was a proud truck driver who loved his job and felt so at home "drivin' truck."

The last decade of his life was spent enjoying his two daughters Dean and Bear (along with two son-in laws and grandchildren) as well as his extended camping family up in northern Wisconsin. He would spend hours riding the trails on his ATV (or "his ride" as he called it) with his friends and exploring small bars, hosting campfires at the Luv Shack, and sipping his favorite cup of coffee at 6am with the birds for company.

The Celebration of Life will be on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9am to 11am at Zacherl Funeral Home in Fond du Lac, WI.

He will be missed by his daughters Bernadette Baccheschi Erickson (Craig Erickson) and Claudine Baccheschi (Preston Michie) along with his two grandsons Augustine and Leopold. As well as his daughters and son from his first marriage; Sherry Kono (Corry), Kristen Strassman (Jason), and Nicholas Kollmann (Brianna). His grandchildren are Dustin Kono (Kayla), Courtnie Kono, Samantha Hartwig (Timothy) and Damien Hebert. His great grandchildren are Nichole Hanson, Kathreen Strassman, Alexander Vorderbruggen, Arhianna Kono, Elijha Kono, and Lilitha Hartwig.

His parents are Frank and Donna Kollmann of Van Dyne, WI. His brothers are Scott, Mark (Sandy), Paul (Dyanne), Steve (Jean), Jon (Roxanne), Michael, and Bob (Jill) Kollmann.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dorothy Kollmann, and his paternal grandparents, Frank Sr. and Leona Kollmann.
