Roy Seaton Obituary

Oshkosh - Roy Seaton passed suddenly on Saturday, December 9th. He was born in 1955 to Kenneth and Betty Seaton at the Unites States Air Force base in Roswell, New Mexico.

He was born into a diverse and traveling childhood. Roy moved around the country until enlisting into the United States Navy. After a brief term in the Navy, Roy finally settled in Fond du Lac, where he fell in love and married Barbara Hoey in 1976. Together they would remain married for forty two years and create a family of five children, two of which Roy would welcome and accept as his own. Scott, (Sharonna) Carlson, Shannon Carlson, Jason Seaton, Sammi Cruckson-Seaton and Travis (Ania) Seaton.

Roy was a devoted father and provider. He worked tirelessly in the trade unions and construction fields for forty years. When the construction economies were weak, he successfully relocated his family across the country to secure more positive construction opportunities. Throughout his life he was a constant source of unyielding support to those he loved. He never allowed and situation of any size, challenge or difficulty to be borne alone. He gave without pause and was always available to those who needed him.

Roy enjoyed his family, the outdoors, and the possibilities of the extra terrestrial, the supernatural and the wonders of outer space. His most joyful moments were spent together with his grandchildren, Nichole, Nolan, Jadelyn, Mason, Noah and Ethan. With excitement and youthful energy he didn't miss an opportunity to teach, exult or just be near them. He was a leader, a provider and a constant advocate for them all. They will miss him deeply.

Roy leaves behind many, loyal, lifelong, wonderful friends; a brother, Rocky Seaton; sister, Linda (Joe) Wagner and will be joining his deceased sister, Carol.

To the Seaton Family,
A long tome ago I had a new neighbor move in our Brownsville neighborhood for about a year or so when I was in 5th or 6th grade.
It was Roy, he was a stranger who rode our bus. I became good friends with him. He was street smart and wise and stuck in the boonies of then Brownsville RFD.
They soon moved and I have not seen or heard from him since. By reading his obituary it had to be him. He was missed then as he is missed now 50 years later.
I was surprised to see after all those years he was not that far from me on Lake Winnebago, just south of Wendt's. We never crossed paths.

Long time Roy,
See you again.

This is a man that I spent many, many hours and conversations about every subject with over the past 25 years. He was a supportive and loving grandfather to my son Nolan. He always made sure that we knew he was there and that he cared. He offered his help and support in numerous ways over the years. He (and grandma too) spoiled the heck out of Nolan and all the grandkids and they've never wondered if they were valued or loved, not a single day.

He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and fought like a lion for them. He was real and down to earth and never sugar coated life when it reared its ugly head. He also never gave up or backed down. He loved his family and had his own way of doing things and that left everyone that knew him on the inside feeling that they were cared for and supported in the end, no matter how hard or bad it ever got. There were so many beautiful and hilarious times that always far out shadowed the tough times. This guy cracked me up and always had a funny spin or comment for everything. You always felt at ease in his presence. He'd be so ticked that I'm (and others here) are writing this as he didn't accept any credit or compliment well. He was a very humble man that lived one day at a time for those in that day with him.

I'm just super happy to finally get the last word on all the God business that we debated the past 25 years. I told him it was real and now he knows! Enjoy it Roy Boy and I won't say I told you so when I get there, I promise.
