Michael C. Horgen, 55, passed away on October 13, 2024, in Fairfax, VA. Born on April 2, 1969, Michael dedicated his professional life to serving his country with honor and distinction. His career included seven years at the Central Intelligence Agency within the Clandestine Services, three years at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, two years at the Pentagon as part of The Secretary of Defense's office, two years with the Director of National Intelligence at the National Counterterrorism Center, and four years in the United States Air Force, specifically in the Nuclear Weapons Forces. Michael earned a master's degree from Capella University in Administrative Leadership and was a staunch believer in the values of determination, care, and kindness. He was also involved in his community and worshipped at the National Cathedral. Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Michael was a man who cherished time with his family and friends. He was an avid cook, loved traveling, and was always eager to try new things. He is survived by his father Jerold Horgen; mother, Grace Horgen; brother, Andrew Horgen; son, Christian Horgen; and daughter, Hana Horgen. A celebration of his life will be held at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Fairfax, VA, 22030 on November 2nd at 1:00 p.m. EST. Michael's life was a testament to his profound commitment to his family, his country, and his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Michael will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
