Benjamin Zanghi Obituary

Benjamin J. Zanghi
Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother

LEOMINSTER -- Benjamin J. Zanghi, 80 years old, of Leominster, formerly of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully Monday, February 17, 2014, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, surrounded by his family.

"Ben" was born March 8, 1933 in Fitchburg, to the late Benedetto and Nina (Catanese) Zanghi.

He leaves his much loved wife of 61 years, Ellen (Guizard) Zanghi; four children, Patti E. Anderson of Gardner, Karen Z. Cormier and her husband, Paul of Leominster, Brian K. Zanghi of Southborough, and Gary B. Zanghi of Clinton. His son, Steven P.A. Zanghi of Gardner passed away October 11, 2011; nine grandchildren, Benjamin, Jennie, Jessie, Brannock, Nathan, Brianna, Jared, Nicolas, and Mikayla. Ben also leaves his brothers, Frank Zanghi and his wife, Betty, Joe Zanghi and his wife, Lil, and sisters, Emily Raymond, Rose Raffaelle, and his nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Steven and Sam Zanghi, and his two sisters, Grace Piermarini and Mary LeBlanc.

Ben retired in 1995 from Lewcott Chemical Research, where he was a supervisor manager. First and foremost he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved his home in Florida in the winter and in the summer he loved living in Wells, Maine at the beach. He was an avid sports fan and especially cheered for the Red Sox and the New York Football Giants.

Ben gave his wife and family much love and wonderful memories, which will stay in their hearts forever. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and will be sadly missed and always remembered.

ZANGHI -- Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 3-6 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A memorial service and burial will be held in the spring. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net
