Charlene Morris Obituary

Charlene J. (Francavilla) Kowesky Morris passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family close by her side.

Living her days to the fullest and always focusing on her faith, she embraced any challenge that came her way; faith was her number 1. When Charlene entered into the Heavens, she was a VIP, just as she was to anyone that was blessed to have her in their life. She will be sadly missed by family, friends, and all the animals that loved their Nana.

She was predeceased by her parents Ciro "Gino" Francavilla and her amazing 100-year-old mom, Charlotte Francavilla from Fitchburg and also Thomas Morris from Connecticut.

"Cher", as many knew her leaves behind her sister Debra Marchand, two brothers Dougie and Ronnie Francavilla. Charlene also leaves behind two sons, Richard Kowesy of Leominster and Darrin Kowesky of Fitchburg, and a daughter Kim Caveney of Westminster; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, and animals. She also enjoyed her friendship with longtime friends Richard Kowesky and wife Judy.

Charlene, who grew up in Fitchburg, had a passion for cutting hair. She opened up her own salon on Pritchard Street called "Cher Shack". She also lived in Hawaii for many years; she loved walking the beach and watching the amazing sunsets along with Hawaiian Heritage music, especially "In This Life" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Charlene eventually moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to her family.

She cherished her gift of life. "God is stronger than any sickness", she would say. Charlene was strong, positive, kind, and loved helping everyone. Her heart was full of love. She enjoyed working at the Leominster Senior Center with Lorraine.

A true hockey mom, she would be cheering on her sons; they made her so proud and she loved the sport of hockey. She also loved to read her prayer books, watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and go to Bingo at Notre Dame High School with Joan and Eleanor on Sunday nights. Charlene loved to sew and enjoyed her music. Cher, Rod Stewart, and Christian music could always be heard in her house.

Charlene loved the outdoors and going to Sholan Farms for the Apple Blossom Festival to release the monarch butterflies with Darrin. This was the 16th year they would have attended. Sholan Farms dedicated the butterflies to Charlene at a ceremony a week after she passed. She had a love for all animals, her 41-year-old African Gray Parrott "Sam" will surely miss his mom.

Charlene enjoyed her weekends with Darrin or with her best friend Louise, daughter Amanda, and niece Carla. They could be seen laughing, enjoying life and the great friendship they shared together, shopping, a bite to eat, or just blessing each other with the love between friends and family.

She also enjoyed her blessed friendship with Cynthia and Asao Nishibe and great friend Alan as well as sharing so many special times together in Hawaii. RIP Mom Aloha.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date.

I am so sorry to be so late to extend my sympathies. I now live in Florida and just checked the obituaries in the Sentinel. I lived in Fitchburg for many, many years and my sister Barbara and I were best friends with Charlene. I remember her mother and father being the nicest people to her friends. We even hung around together after her husband died and she came back to Massachusetts. She was a really great friend to my sister and me for so many years. As a matter of fact we grew up next door to your father Dick Kowesky and his family on North Street in Fitchburg. I am so sorry to hear about her passing and I had to write her family to tell her that. Please accept my sincere condolence. Janet (Campbell) Clegg

I knew Charlene for years working at Fallon/Reliant Medical Group. She was by far one of my favorite patients. I will forever cherish the Snowman she made me from socks. She was my "little friend" and we often spoke of going to Hawaii for a visit together. I loved hearing her stories. After she passed and the first obituary was in the paper I showed it to my boyfriend John, who I then found out he was the patient he was taking care of at the Highlands and often spoke about. She told him to play her and her husbands favorite song to me-without knowing that it was I who was his girlfriend. Because of HIPAA we never said her name out loud to one another but it brought me great joy to know he was taking such great care of her and like he says "she now knows we are together". I regret she didn't know before hand because I would have been there to visit her every day. Fly high my sweet Charlene. Till we meet again
