My deepest condolences to Chow's family. I used to be one of his cocktail waitresses. When I left Singapore and returned on occasion for 'fun', he would always greet me with a hug and ask me how I was. He was tough to work for, but was genuinely a caring and wonderful man to know. He will be missed.

Met Chow while building my house across the street from his home. For the past 19 years we have been friends in the neighborhood and at his restaurant. My kids grew up with him and he was always gracious to them - grandfather like figure. I am better person knowing and having conversations with such a wonderful man. I will dearly miss our conversations on tractors, grass, sprinkler heads, girls, and of course Chinese food. My entire family is very saddened by his departure and I had to break this sad news to all my kids. I hope Shirley can take solace that Chow was a kind man, humble, funny, that made many people happy. My thoughts and prayers to the Chows and LaPrades families on their loss. The neighborhood will not be the same with him leaving all us. God Bless Chow!

Shirley, I'm so sorry for your loss. Chow touched so many people in so many different ways, his passing is a great loss to all that knew him. I was one of the lucky ones to have had the chance to be touched by him. Chow taught us all something, he had a story for everything and always wanted to know about our life's. I will miss seeing you two pass my house and seeing Chow waving with that giant smile he carried where ever he went, infact I could see his smile before I could see the car coming down the road. Chow would always tell me I know its Spring time when I see you outside cleaning your lawn Tobey. Chow gave me something that no one can ever take away and that was his hand in friendship. I know when the sun is shining that its Chow Smiling up above. I will miss you my friend, your job is done here but we shall all meet again. Thank you for your words of wisdom and your hand in friendship.
