I met Dan when we both worked for GAB in Massachusetts in the late '70's. I remember one particular interaction that stayed with me throughout my career and really told me everything I needed to know about Dan. I was working in our Fitchburg office, I was a young adjuster with maybe 3 years on the job. Dan lived in Shirley and used to hang out with us in Fitchburg once in a while. I had a question on some small Homeowners claim, and asked Dan for his advice. He was working on some huge commercial claim, and had papers and spreadsheets spread out all over his desk. He carefully picked up every one of his papers, placed them in his folder, and took my itty bitty Homeowner claim, opened it up on his desk and patiently helped me through whatever issue I had. He was so kind and so conscientious and worked hard to make me better. Throughout my insurance career, which is now at the 40+ year mark, I have always tried to be as helpful to the next generation as Dan was to me. God Bless you Dan, and once more, let me thank you.
