LUNENBURG -- Gabrielle M. (Mosca) Flaherty, 51, of Lunenburg, died Friday, April 23, at Emerson Hospital in Concord, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gabrielle was born in Cambridge on November 28, 1958, the youngest daughter of the late Frances M. (Canina) Mosca. She grew up in Cambridge, graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in 1976, and then went on to Mass Bay Community College.

She loved spending time with family and friends on White Pond in Athol. She enjoyed hiking and the outdoors, and working on home improvement projects.

She was a member of the Church of the Harvest in Fitchburg, and in recent years volunteered for the local Meals-on-Wheels program.

She leaves her husband, Brian R. Flaherty, and three sons, Robert W. Flaherty, Stephen M. Flaherty and Thomas E. Flaherty, all of Lunenburg; her father, Rocco A. Mosca of Arlington; a brother, John Mosca of Medford; three sisters, Nancy Skinner of San Mateo, CA, Cathy Mosca of Marblehead, and Martha Condry of Framingham; and several nieces and nephews.

Brian, Rob, Stephen and Thomas: When we moved next door to you in 1992 during a banner snowstorm, Gabrielle was out in the snow (thigh high, pregnant with Stephen) just walking and enjoying the outdoors...we thought she was crazy! 18 years later I can honestly say it has been a pleasure sharing yards with you and watching these boys grow! Don't worry, Momma O'Rourke is only a few steps away if you need me. Love to all of you during this difficult time! Love Kelly and Pat O'Rourke and family
